“Looking at our past” by Luisa del Valle in the program Disseny i Innovació a les Illes Balears

Luisa del Valle is the new creator of the "Disseny i Innovació a les Illes Balears" program. In the exhibition "Looking at our past", which will be exhibited from October 2 to March 25, it will be possible to know pieces with influences from the Romans, also from different cultures that lived in Mallorca, artisans with anonymous works, art almost forgotten.

This project is a tribute to several traditions almost lost, like the Romans of Pollentia or the Muslims of Alcudia. The work with materials such as olive wood, a tree so present on the island of Mallorca, or pearls, treated from the tradition of braiding, as were done by different craftsmen in the town of Manacor and from which learned the technique, make up a large part of their interest in putting value into a present so far away.
