OPEN DOORS DAY TO MARK THE DIADA DE MALLORCA

On Sunday, September 11, the eve of "Diada de Mallorca" (Day of Mallorca) Es Baluard will celebrates open doors day. The schedule will Summer's, from 10 am to 9 pm. The audience will be able to visit the temporary exhibition "Julião Sarmento. 2000-2010", and the works Signatures and Les archives du coeur by Christian Boltanski, as well as the permanent collection.

Curated by Fernando Francés "Julião Sarmento. 2000 - 2010" is the first exhibition in Balearic by the artist Julião Sarmento (Lisbon 1948) results of a co-production with the CAC Málaga. This retrospective includes the most significant works of his last years painting, drawing, sculpture, video and collage.

Signatures of Christian Boltanski (Paris 1944) is a facility designed specifically for the museum dedicated to the workers who built the well and the bastion of Sant Pere. This is the first site-specific work by this artist in a public space of the Balearic Islands and the first that has taken place after this artist was represented in France at the Venice Biennale 2011.

According with this exhibition the museum features the Christian Boltanski's work-in-progress Les Archives du Coeur, with the collaboration of Kewenig Gallery. The installation offers to the audience the possibility of recording their heart beats.
