The Board of Fundació Es Baluard approving Plan of Action and budgets for 2014

The Board of Es Baluard Museu d’Art Modern i Contemporani de Palma today approved the action plan and budget for 2014, which is € 2,135,800. The amount of the contributions of the Govern de les Illes Balears, the Consell de Mallorca and Ajuntament de Palma for this budget is € 1,070,000.

The Action Plan for the 2014 is based on a quality program from the rigor, austerity and sustainability and the involvement and increased self-financing of Es Baluard in its management, to offer to the different audiences a dynamic and quality program to continue making Es Baluard the cultural space of reference in the Balearics and inserting it into the international circuits and as a place of attraction for foreign visitors.

With this premise, the Es Baluard’s team raises for this year, among other objectives: to preserve, research and disseminate the museum's collection cataloging your background, education and training to develop a research-based activity in innovative ways, as well as a program of activities centered on the museum and collaboration with external stakeholders and establish networking with other museums and local, national and international entities.

For this 2014, Es Baluard projects the following exhibitions:

  • Cabinet: Eulàlia Valldosera.
  • Audiovisual work winner of the beca DKV Seguros-Es Baluard.

Also during this year, Es Baluard will hold collaborations with museums and other institutions of the Balearic Islands, and the Museu d'Art Contemporani d'Eivissa (MACE) and own programs as "Art in public space", or made with partners and collaborators as AA:tomic, Platoniq, Clúster de Còmic de Nous Mèdia de Mallorca, Poetry Slam Festival, among others.

The Board meeting today was attended by: Antonio Gómez and Joana Maria Camps, representing Govern de les Illes Balears; Maria Salom, Joan Rotger and Jaume Juan from Consell de Mallorca; Mateu Isern and Fernando Gilet representing Ajuntament de Palma; and Es Baluard's director, Nekane Aramburu.
