THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE FOUNDATION ES BALUARD APPROVE THE ACCOUNTS AND ACTIVITIES REPORT 2012
The Es Baluard's Board of Trustees has approved today in regular session the museum's accounts for 2012, financial year in which the institution had a budget expenditure of € 2,376,000. Regarding the stipulation and compared to what was budgeted, total expenses decreased by 4.33%, while total income declined 0.99%. The budget has been balanced with a surplus of € 25,000. In presenting the budget to the Board, was attached an audit report without objection.
During the past year, the museum recorded a total of 396,489 visitors, representing an increase of 61,983 visits in relation to 2011 and reflecting the positive reception registered by the Es Baluard's exhibitions and activities.
In the same way as performed Baluard in recent years, will soon be available on the museum website both the Activity and the Economic Report, with the corresponding audit report. In terms of activities and exhibitions of 2012, the report highlights:
- That during 2012, the museum held exhibitions: "Esther Ferrer. In four movements," "Realities/Fictions. Works from the Es Baluard's Collection", "Joan Bennàssar. The wine I drink tastes of the sea", "Toni Catany", "Pictorial fragments. 1980 -2010.Works from the Es Baluard's Collection", "The perception of space" and "Otras Miradas. Biblioteca Nacional de España".
- Performances: "Esther Ferrer. El arte de la performance. Teoría y práctica” and “Alicia Framis. Anti_dog (Palma de Mallorca, 2012)”.
- About thirty cultural activities, own or in collaboration, among which "Feim Films", "Llunes d'Es Baluard", "Fascicles Musical", "GranGent/GentGran", "The International Museum Day", "Maremostra. Ocean International Film Festival", "Mecal Air", "NeoTokyo Festival of Electronic Music and Video Art", "Art Futura" and "International European Film Week", among others.
- The Es Baluard's Education and Training programme was carried out increaing visits and workshops for schools. In addition, there has been a new edition of the "Cartografiem-nos" with the CP Gènova in 2011-12. Also continued to develop the "Família! El dissabte va d'art". Apart from this, it has held the course "Still Life or building an image. Workshop with Toni Catany" and have generated a series of initiatives to bring the museum to several groups and contexts of society, such as "Encuentro con la mirada", with users of Mental Health Area. On the other hand, has continued Euro-regional calls on Contemporary Art Research Hospital, "INVIHSIBLE?" and "I International Seminar Contemporary Art in Hospitals". In addition, the area has participated in the celebration of "World Mental Health Day" and "The International Museum Day" and has worked in the dissemination of projects participating in several conferences.
It should be added that in today's meeting Ms. Joana Maria Camps was designated as representative of the Government of the Balearic Islands in the Board and the Executive Committee of the Foundation, replacing Mr. Rafael Ángel Bosch.
