THE ES BALUARD'S BOARD EL PATRONATO DE ES BALUARD APPROVES THE 2010 ACTION PLAN AND BUDGETS

The Board of the Fundació Es Baluard Museu d'Art Modern i Contemporani de Palma has approved the 2010 Action Plan and budgets for this year. The Action Plan includes objectives that Es Baluard is set for next year and the activities carried out by each of the areas of the museum. To develop the activity planned in the coming year, is Baluard has a budget of € 4,244,716, of which the Govern de les Illes Balears, the Consell de Mallorca and Palma City Council will contribute € 932,450 each, 15 % less than that allocated for the financial year 2009. Of the total budgeted for 2010, 18.25% are self-financing Es Baluard. Among the objectives envisaged by the Action Plan 2010, are:

-Submit a review of the initial Museologic and Strategic Plans for the next five years.

-Start preparing for leadership contest Es Baluard.

-To preserve, expand and spread the museum's collection.

-Develop a balanced program of exhibitions to publicize the work of the great international artists, the dissemination of the artists of the Islands and the dissemination of equity, with attention to the plurality of languages that make up the contemporary.

-Promote the great educational programs in which it works the museum, and especially those aimed at groups who need support for integration.

-To promote the cultural activities around the collection, temporary exhibitions, current affairs, a wide range of artistic disciplines (theater, dance, music, film, poetry, performance, circus ...) and through networks receiving both activities and to the issue. It's all to make an Es Baluard culturally dynamic, generating criticism and reflection, and to contribute to the cultural revitalization of the country.

-Generating dynamics of participation of the museum in society and society in the museum.

-Continue and enhance collaboration with other museums and art centers.

-Promote the dissemination of the museum of his collection, activities and new spaces of relationship. Spread between the Balearic society and enhance the dissemination abroad, through all possible channels, especially those offered by information highways.

-Create social network around Es Baluard to improve communication, participation and debate.

-Accent and more frequent communication: new website, Facebook, Twitter, Tuenti, e-mail, etc.

-Strengthen existing funding streams and promote alternative ways: Amics d'Es Baluard, space rental, profitability exhibitions.

-Study and provide possible solutions to shortcomings in the museum library, classroom, workshop, store expansion program, registration, etc.
